Québec emploi Privacy Policy
This policy provides a brief explanation of the rules applicable to the collection and use of your personal information, as well as the terms and conditions relating to consent to gather or use that information. When you open an account on the Québec emploi website, you agree that your personal information may be collected and used in the manner described below.
Note that, when you click on a link and leave the Québec emploi virtual environment, any information exchanged from that moment on is no longer subject to this privacy policy. Out of an abundance of caution, we invite you to read the privacy policy of the website that you are visiting.
Use of cookies
No personal information is collected using cookies. The information that is exchanged automatically between computers does not make it possible to learn your identity. Such information is collected only because of the technological requirements that are inherent to navigating the Internet and is used for statistical purposes.
However, Québec emploi places a permanent cookie on the computer hard drive of visitors that enables them to save parameters relating to text size.
Use of Google Analytics
The Québec emploi website uses Google Analytics, which is a tool that measures visitor traffic.
Using cookies, Google Analytics collects information concerning your navigation on our site, and stores it on servers located in particular in the United States. Google Analytics may communicate that information to third parties where legally obligated or when third parties process that information on its behalf.
The information collected using Google Analytics includes, for example, the pages you visit, the date, time, duration and frequency of your visits, as well as the links you click on. It also gathers information on the type of operating system on your PC, the language it uses, the name of your Internet provider and your geographic location (region). Your IP address is also collected, but it is anonymized (masked) to ensure the confidentiality of your information. Anonymization prevents the identification of a user through their IP address.
Google Analytics uses gathered information only to produce statistics and reports on website navigation, which then makes it possible to improve a service offer. Google Analytics will not, under any circumstance, link the information collected on the Québec emploi website to any other data in its possession.
If you wish, you may prevent Google Analytics from collecting information related to your navigation by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Use of clicSÉQUR or the Government Authentication Service and Creation of Your User Code and Password
To open an account on the Québec emploi website, users must authenticate their identity using either the Government Authentication Service (for users who are looking for a job) or with clicSÉQUR – Entreprises (for users who are employers). The use of the Government Authentication Service or the clicSÉQUR service for enterprises may require the collection of personal information in order to verify your identity. That information is sent to Services Québec or Revenu Québec, as the case may be, and subjected to the Confidentiality Policies related to the Government Authentication Service or the clicSÉQUR service. You will always know which ministry or organization is requesting personal information.
If you are an employer and you do not already have a clicSÉQUR account, you will be required, among other things, to choose a user code and password in order to create one. If you are a person looking for a job and you do not already have a Government Authentication Service account when registering for the Québec emploi service, you must enter your email address, and choose a user name and password in order to create one. Note that you must take all necessary precautions to ensure that your clicSÉQUR user code and password are used in optimal security and privacy conditions.
In the event that the confidentiality of your user code and password is compromised, please notify the Centre de relations avec la clientèle at Services Québec as soon as possible.

You may also visit the website of the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec.
Automatic Collection of Information
Please note that, when you access the Québec emploi website, there is an automatic exchange of non-personally identifiable information between your PC and our server, which takes place without any intervention on your part. The following information is exchanged:
- Internet domain name (example: "xcompany.com", if our website is accessed via a private Internet connection, or "university.edu" if connecting via an institution) and IP address (a number that is automatically assigned to your PC by your Internet provider every time you go online) used to access our website
- Type of navigator and operating system used to access our website
- Date and time you access our website

This exchange of information enables the server to transfer you a file that is compatible with your computer equipment. Information Collected with Your Consent
The Ministère de l'Emploi et de la Solidarité sociale collects the personal information contained in your profile. In creating an account on the Québec emploi website, you consent to the collection and use of such personal information in order to assist you with your job search.
This personal information includes the following: your surname, first name, email address, telephone number, postal address and correspondence language, information pertaining to your job search (availability date and résumé), your job search criteria (job title, professional group, profession and duration of employment), information on your training (diploma, educational institution, start and end dates), as well as your proficiency in other languages (level of fluency, reading, writing). You may also upload your résumé and presentation letter in your profile, which are necessary to submit your candidacy and apply for a job.
If you give your consent, employers with at least one job opening may consult the personal information in your profile (with the exception of your postal address, résumé and presentation letter). Such employers may also present you with one or more job offers.
With a Québec emploi account, users have access to a personalized job search tool. This tool uses artificial intelligence to propose jobs that correspond to the user's profile and geographic location or postal code.
Note that you may withdraw your consent at any time by changing the parameters in the Personal Information section of your profile.
Compatible Use of Your Personal Information
With the exception of your personally identifiable information, résumé and presentation letter, the personal information in your profile may be used to improve and refine the Québec emploi website, in particular to offer you a personalized job search tool.
This tool uses an artificial intelligence algorithm to sort, by order of relevance, job offers that correspond to your profile. These offers are then presented in the section entitled Available Jobs by Profile.
